The host for the evening Willie Jankins was very entertaining. He kept the crowd, the presenters, winners and performers engaged.

The show opens up with an amazing performance from the Male Country Artist of the Year Matt Tucker. Followed by the Awards for the R & B genre. Male R & B artist of the year was won by Akevius. The Female R & B artist of the year was won by last year’s New Artist of the year, Wykia and for the fourth straight year V4 has been crowned R & B group of the year.

The Battle 4 A Cause winners Carolina Divas Dance gave us an awesome performance. They had tenacity, passion, attitude, agility and athleticism to name a few of the attributes portrayed. At one point they even had a new team member on stage with them. None other than host Willie Jankins.

The next category of winner was Gospel artist of the year. The winners were Kimberly Latoya for Female artist.

The night continued with some great performances. Young Artist of the year Lil Ryche proviided a very energetic performance and had the crowd moving in their seats. The R&B Group of the year V4 also provided us with a great performance as they performed 2 of their hit singles.

One of the newest and most important awards of the evening was the Konnected to Excellence in Education Award was given to six CMS teachers. This award was presented by the Queen city Awards founder, Mr. Kevan Glover. The receipients were Dr. Elizabeth P. Threatt, Deanna Riley, Derrick Moore, Matthew Piscitelli, Devanda Rodriquez and Laura Hoffman.

We got a Dance Tribute to Petey Pablo the Trendsetter Award Recipient from the Twins Dance Nation, Luck Bone had fans out of their seat as he performed his single "Big Dog, No Collar" and then was serenaded by performances from Akevius, Wren Bozi & OPJ.

For the second year in a row Lil Ryche received Youth Artist of the Year honors and 92.7 received Radio Station of the Year for the third consecutive year. Podcast of the year was won by No Advisory Podcast, Author of the Year was taken home by Ericka L. McKnight.

Seafood Connection is the 2018 Small Business of the Year while Michelle'A Washington took home the award for Model of the Year. Buck TV and Vdot won Videographer and Photographer of the Year respectively. The night came to a close as Reece won Female rapper of the Year.
